Good Morning America is a North American news and variety talk show hosted by Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Lara Spencer, Amy Robach, Tony Reali and weather anchor Ginger Zee. One Direction has appeared on Good Morning America four times, in 2012, 2013 and twice in 2015.


The program features news, interviews, weather forecasts, special-interest stories, and feature segments such as "Pop News" (featuring pop culture and entertainment news, and viral videos), the "GMA Heat Index" (featuring a mix of entertainment, lifestyle and human-interest stories) and "Play of the Day" (featuring a selected viral video or television program clip).



One Direction's first Good Morning America appearance was June 2, 2012. The band did not perform but were interviewed about the success of their debut album Up All Night.


One Direction's second Good Morning America appearance was November 26, 2013. The band was interviewed, then performed "Story of My Life", "Best Song Ever", "What Makes You Beautiful", "Little Things" and "Midnight Memories". "Little Things" was not aired on television.


One Direction's third Good Morning America appearance was August 4, 2015. The band was briefly interviewed, then performed "Drag Me Down", "No Control", "Story of My Life" and "Steal My Girl". "No Control's" performance was not aired on television until August 29, 2015, and certain lyrics were censored.

One Direction's second 2015 appearance was part of Good Morning America's 40th anniversary livestream on November 17. The band took questions from the hosts and the audience, and performed "Drag Me Down", "Perfect", "Love You Goodbye" and "History".
